Pacheco Pass by Aaron Lebold

A group of friends with a van will always lead to trouble. This book is proof of that. Deciding to rob a bank is the beginning of murder and drug induced bad ideas for this group of men, that lead them from Colorado to California. When they get to an old friend’s house, where they plan to hide out, they still need to make money. They decide to set up a projector on a highway called Pacheco Pass, where people claim they see ghosts. They show a projection of a woman that looks like a ghost and when the car crashes on the highway, they run up and steal all of their valuables. Simple, right? The problem is, the ghosts on Pacheco Pass are real.

This was one of those rare books that I wondered what happened next after I put it down. I kept wanting to go back and finish it. This well written, dialog driven tale, will have you feeling like you are one of the guys just watching one bad decision after another. It’s that train wreck that you can’t look away from. There are only a couple of books I’ve read in the last six months that I plan to buy a physical copy of, because it was that good. This is one of them. Highly recommend.
