Michael moves in with his grandfather after a horrific car accident killing his parents. The locals are quiet and leery of strangers. Michael discovers the legend of Naia Tomes, a witch who protected the town with a price, the flesh of new born babies. Through many twists and turns, Michael finds himself not only in the middle of the resurrection of the witch but outwitted into being a participant in his own demise.
I’m not going to lie, I sat down with the intent of just reading the first page or two, and I ended up reading the whole book. It was that good. There was a twist I thought I foresaw, forgot about because the author convinced me what I saw wasn’t true, then it ended up being true. Very masterfully written. This was the first book I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be the last.
