A punk-rock teen trans-girl who grew up on a farm in a conservative town has the best night of her life when she sneaks out of the house to see her favorite band Soaked in Blood. She meets a boy who’s only care is meeitng someone that walks and talks like a girl, the rest is unimportant, and has the experience every teen dream of. But when she wanders back home, she finds escaped convicts have brutalized her family. But what they weren’t counting on was an angry teen who knows how to use a chainsaw.
This was a refreshing read in that instead of victimization, the trans mc is the heroine. She has allies in her family and she is committed to protect them as they have protected her. Like most of Blaze’s books, this was an enjoyable, one sitting read.
