I really enjoyed these stories. There was something for everyone in this strong mix of supernatural horror and traditional horror. Some of my favorites: A pop-up tree farm that lures people inside, a creepy story about a woman who is relegated to non-stop walking below the earth, and a tale about the dead coming for Christmas dinner. To top it off, the book was perfectly sealed with a gruesome story by Chisto Healy.
Even the reading ambiance is something worth noting. There was a beautifully placed interlude telling you to stop and grab a little egg nogg and little wreaths were used as page breaks. I love oppositional pairing like this. Who doesn’t want to be reminded of egg nogg and candles while reading about people being made into Christmas baked goods? Who said secret ingredient? Not me. Definitely worth getting!
